Strategy
A Strategic Approach:
Our strategy begins with a comprehensive assessment of the required facilities, considering factors such as the volume of solid waste generated, including peak demands. Following agreements with the place of worship authorities or the city's municipal corporation, we secure the project's capital funding. We then establish waste collection and segregation facilities, reserve space, and prepare the civil infrastructure for the composting unit. After installation, we provide training to staff for the machinery's operation and maintenance.
Implementation Steps:
- Waste Collection and Segregation: Collected waste is brought to the site and undergoes a rigorous segregation process.
- Composting of Floral/Wet Waste: The floral and wet waste is processed in the composting unit.
- Marketing Organic Compost: The resulting organic compost is made available for sale.
- Sustainable Project Funding: The proceeds from compost sales contribute to the project's sustainability.

Composting plants setup in New Delhi under New Delhi Municipal Council
Hear it from the source

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) found a valuable ally in The Art of Living for the establishment of four municipal waste management centres. This collaboration stands as a generous gesture from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, marking the fourth unit installed here. It serves as a model example for waste management centres nationwide, equipped with machines capable of handling up to 1,000 kilograms of waste daily.
Hon. Mr. Anil Baijal
Former, Lt. Governor, Delhi Statement on Waste Management

In a concerted effort to address the escalating garbage issue in the New Delhi area, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and The Art of Living have collaborated on a waste management plant. This facility processes kitchen waste as well as the surplus from fruit and vegetable shops. Through this initiative, organic waste is converted into compost, which finds utility in gardening and agricultural activities.

In New Delhi, The Art of Living's waste management initiative is transforming organic waste into compost at a rate of one tonne per day. By efficiently segregating kitchen waste and utilising an organic waste converter machine, the project creates nutrient-rich compost. With a curing period of 10 to 15 days, enhanced by the introduction of the enzyme Jag Pawani, the initiative not only tackles waste but also supports sustainable agriculture by improving soil quality and crop growth without chemicals.
Composting Initiative in New Delhi

Our proprietary Jag Pavani bio-enzyme technology was successfully applied to a 4 acre dump yard in Ghaziabad, UP, effectively eliminating foul odors and facilitating the removal of the dump yard, thus reclaiming the land. Additionally, this innovative technology has been effectively utilised in dump yards in Akola, Maharashtra, and Sanjay Lake Park, Delhi.
